Canberra author celebrates new book
Trish Smith is a Canberran through and through. She loves and enjoys this city, raising her family here and starting a successful business with Airpocket, a seat-back travel bag.
As well as being an entrepreneur, Trish is an author. Her new book, Love your work was published late 2017. Set in Canberra, this is a rollicking ride through the recruitment processes in the public service. Or if you prefer, ‘a blog about the heart-breaking search for your one true job.’
Abby Lucas O’Brien is a recruitment consultant who writes a fly-on-the-wall anonymous blog called “Unrecruited Love” about the business of getting a job in Canberra, Australia. From tales of hapless interviewees whose nerves got the better of them, to hilarious anecdotes about interviewers who ask all the wrong questions, Abby’s blog entertains its readers with fascinating insights into human behaviour.
In a first for Canberra’s readers, HerCanberra is serialising this book over the holiday season. Each week for two months, you can read and download three chapters of Love your work. Follow Abby’s blog and escapades: what will she do next? Enjoy your weekly instalments for free!
The book production was a true collaboration of local talent: written by Trish, designed by Alicia Friele of tangomedia and produced by Bobby Graham Publishers. Now available as an ebook.
